Sparta vs. Rangers: preview and betting tips

Sparta Prague will take on Rangers in their second Europa League match at Letná. The stadium is closed to fans, but at least 10,000 children will see the match. How will the important Group A match play out?

Sparta had a relatively good start to the season, but then a bit of a downturn. A draw with Bohemians, a loss to Plzeň, a draw at Brondby and a draw with Jablonec.

However, with the latest results, the team is back on a winning note. They beat Líšeň 3:0 in the Mol Cup and won 5:2 in a wild match in Zlín. But now comes a much tougher opponent.

Rangers are still first in the Scottish Premiership after seven rounds with a one-point lead over Hibernian. In the Europa League, they lost 0-2 at home to Lyon.

Both teams would like to advance, so the match at Letná is very important for both teams. Moreover, after the draw in Brondby, another loss would make it very difficult for Sparta to qualify.

For Rangers, a defeat would also make the situation more difficult, after two rounds having zero points could mean a big problem for Gerrard and co.

Therefore I expect the game to be very cautious in the first half at least, as neither team will want to make a mistake.
