Sparta Prague will have a match on Wednesday which can be described as very important. They lost their opening game against Rapid Vienna and now they have to win by at least a goal to take it to extra time. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Sparta have played their first two games of the 2021/22 season and certainly cannot be satisfied. In the Champions League qualification they lost to Rapid Vienna 1:2.
The game went quite well for the Prague club, Ladislav Krejci Jr. scored right at the start, but in the second half the game got slower and the home team’s Christoph Knasmüllner scored twice.
The opening league match was better, Sparta was losing, but then scored three goals and received the second goal at the end, so they beat Olomouc Sigma 3:2.
Even Rapid did not start the league season as they would have expected. They hosted Hartberg, who beat them 0:2 at home.
On Wednesday they will definitely want to make up for it. However, it won’t be easy and it is expected that we could see an extra time.
After the cancellation of the away goals, a 1: 0 win is not enough for Sparta, but they need to win by two goals if they want to advance directly.
However, the odds for Sparta to advance are higher, 2.45 compared to 1.55 for Rapid. Personally, I would prefer to bet that both teams score.
