In the last match of the Europa League group stage, Sparta Prague will play Brondby Copenhagen. The match is very important for both teams, as it is about who will be in the European Cups in the spring. How will the match play out and what to bet on?
Advancing to the knockout stage of the Europa League is already a lost cause for both teams, Sparta had a good start, but two defeats to Lyon and a loss to Rangers means third place at best.
But even that secures the European Cups in the spring, as the European Conference League is here. It is one of the current opponents that will qualify for the play-offs with the second team in the group stage of the ECL.
Sparta are better off, with four points, while Brondby have only two, thanks to two home draws with Sparta and Rangers. The Danes’ goal is clear, they must win.
A draw is enough for Sparta and after three defeats in a row we can definitely expect an interesting match. At home, Sparta have been performing well in the Europa League.
First they beat Rangers with the support of the children’s fans, then they led Lyon 2:0, but despite the quality performance they lost 3:4. Brondby lost both away games with a score of 0::5 and Sparta will be the favourites.
What to bet on? Sparta have only lost twice at home so far this season, to Monaco and Lyon. They have subsequently lost a draw to Jablonec, but otherwise they have won at home.
Brondby is not a strong enough opponent for Sparta to lose at home and move to last place in the group. That’s why I wouldn’t be afraid to bet not only on their promotion, but also on their win.
