Sparta will start their Europa League group stage journey on Thursday. The first opponent will be Aris Limassol, which should be the weakest team in the group. What to bet on in the match?
Sparta’s journey to the Europa League has been more than interesting. Thanks to the championship title, it was able to start its journey in the third round of the Champions League, where it faced a strong Copenhagen.
The opening match ended amicably, the second one except for penalty kicks where Sparta were the weaker team. Unfortunately, they were thus relegated to the Europa League play-offs and even here they could not enjoy the opponent.
Dinamo Zagreb were beaten 1: 3 away. Many already condemned it and did not believe that it could catch up. However, coach Brian Priske’s team worked hard and won 4:1 at home.
Aris’ journey was more or less similar. The Cypriot side jumped into the second preliminary round and caught BATE, with whom they set off a goal machine and advanced after wins of 6: 2 and 5: 3.
Then they got Polish Raków, whom they didn’t beat in a single match. He was relegated to the Europa League, where his opponent was Slovan Bratislava.
The Slovakian team won 2: 1 at home, but incomprehensibly failed in Cyprus and lost 2: 6. Aris could look forward to the group stage of the Europa League.
What to expect from the match? The two teams have not met once in their history, but the favourite is clear. Sparta must win at home, as a loss would complicate their path to promotion.
That’s why I expect them to enter the game with an attacking line-up and try to emulate their home game against Slovácko. It is also important to be in a good mood for Sunday’s derby.
If you want to be bolder, you can help yourself with a higher number of goals. The best bet is Sparta Prague and more than 1.5 goals at odds of 1.70.
Betting tip | Sparta Prague win
