Sparta knows its opponent, Slovácko advances to the MOL Cup final

Hradec Králové is having a great season, the newcomer is in 6th place in the Fortuna Liga and managed to advance to the semi-finals of the cup. In the last two league matches, the Votrok managed to win full points.
On their way to the semi-finals, Miroslav Koubek’s charges defeated Olympia Březová, SK Zápy, in the semi-finals they managed to beat Baník Ostrava 2:1 and in the quarter-finals they managed to beat Prague Bohemians by the same ratio. Hradec were missing long term injured defender Otto Urma and also a guest from Moravia Filip Kubala due to a guest agreement.
Slovácko is in a slightly better position in the league, they will play in the group for the title with great confidence and Martin Svědik’s charges have not lost their last 5 matches. On their way to the final Slovácko defeated Zbuzany, then Karvina and in the quarter-finals after a penalty shootout also Olomouc Sigma.
Coach Svedik had to deal with the absence of key players Filip Nguyen and Vaclav Jurecka, who was on the bench of the Czech national team in the barrage match in Sweden. Tomáš Fryšták was again in goal for the visitors, while Ondřej Šašinka was preferred to Roger Cicilia at the top of the attack.
The first big danger in front of Hradec’s goal came in the 14th minute, when an unpleasant centre by Havlik had to be cleared by goalkeeper Vízek.
Hradec’s first big chance was created by Votrok’s captain Adam Vlkanova, who got a header close to Slovácko’s goal after Mejdra’s centre. But he was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Fryšták. Then Petržela ran at the goal all by himself, but goalkeeper Vízek destroyed the chance with a good run.
Slovácko was the first to score, in the 36th minute Havlík, playing well, worked the ball in the middle of the field and sent Ondrej Šašinka out, who uncompromisingly shot through the Hradec goalkeeper – 0::1.
In the second half, the first chance waited until the 58th minute, when Slovácko player Vladislav Levin appeared in front of the goal, but his chance did not end in a goal.
In the 72nd minute the score was 0:2, after a counter-attack Lukáš Sadílek scored with a hard shot, but the goal was disallowed due to a previous offside.
Despite the 7 minutes long setup, the score did not change. Slovácko advanced to the Cup final. The team from Uherské Hradiště will face Sparta from Prague in the final. The match will take place at the beginning of May on the field of Slovácko.
