Champions League
Sparta is sure to be in the European Cup group! It was helped by the victory of Inter. What about other Czech teams?
AC Sparta Praha is sure to play in a European competition next season. Thanks to Inter Milan’s victory over Atalanta, they have advanced to the third round of the Champions League, which means participation in Europe despite defeats in the preliminary rounds.

Manchester City and Inter Milan secured Sparta’s group participation
Sparta Prague, as winners of the Fortuna Liga, were assured of qualification to the second preliminary round of the Champions League. However, if the winner of the millionaire’s competition had secured qualification from its domestic league, the Czech side would have advanced to the third preliminary round.
And that is exactly what happened on Saturday. The winner of the Champions League will emerge from the match between Manchester City and Inter Milan. The English side won the Premier League and were assured of a Champions League group.
Inter, on the other hand, did not fare well in the league. Napoli clearly dominated Serie A and four teams were fighting for the remaining three places. Inter and Atalanta were in direct competition for Champions League qualification.
The team from San Siro won 3:2 and is now guaranteed to participate in the millionaire competition next year. Thus, Sparta Prague moves from the second to the third preliminary round.
Due to the low coefficient, the team from Leten will be unseeded in the third round of the Champions League and may face Dinamo Zagreb, Slovan Bratislava, Ferencváros Budapest or Karabakh.
It is therefore safe to say that Spartans will play in a European competition next season. To get into the Champions League, they would have to go through two preliminary rounds. If they make it to the fourth round, but fail, the Europa League awaits them.
They can get into the Europa League even if they don’t make it past the third preliminary round of the Champions League. The loser is relegated to the fourth round of the Europa League. If they win, they will play a group game there, if they fail, it would be a qualification for the Conference League group.
Slavia has a great chance to qualify for the group, Plzeň and Bohemians have a tough mission ahead
SK Slavia Prague will enter the European Cups in the 3rd preliminary round of the Europa League. In order to play in the Europa League or Conference League group, they must beat at least one of their opponents.
Viktoria Plzeň and Bohemians are third and fourth in the Fortuna Liga. Both teams have qualified for the second round of the Conference League, so they must not hesitate to make an appearance in Europe in the autumn.
Both Viktoria and Kangaroos have to get past three opponents to play a Conference League group. Failure in any of the preliminary rounds ends their European journey.
Pilsen will be seeded in the second round of the Conference League, so they should face easier opponents than Bohemians. The Kangaroos will be drawn as unseeded, so they may face very strong opponents like FC Brugge or PAOK Thessaloniki.
