Spain defeated Italy and celebrates their progress from the group! Calafiori scored the only goal into his own net

The Spain vs Italy match is definitely one of the most interesting matches in the group stage. It was no different on the pitch, we saw plenty of chances. However, it was the Spaniards who played the football and in the end they came away with a narrow 1:0 win.

The goalkeeper could only knock the ball sideways, but Riccardo Calafiori ran into the area and knocked it into his own net. Spain’s one-goal lead wasn’t enough, Lamine Yamal’s long-range effort narrowly missing the target.

Spain aren’t afraid to shoot from distance and Williams’ attempt hit the crossbar. The Italians weren’t getting many chances and it looked like it was only a matter of time before Spain increased their lead.

But there was no change in the score. Spain won the second game and are now in the relegation zone. Italy, on the other hand, needs to score in their match against Croatia.
