- Spain will play the EURA final
- Their opponents will be England
- Coach de la Fuente said a few words at the press conference
Spain reached the final of the tournament thanks to a series of wins. It managed to beat Croatia, Italy and Albania in the group stage and then successively eliminated the selections of Georgia, Germany and France.
So they had some strong opponents at the tournament and were the better team in all the matches. Game-wise, they are definitely the most likeable team and it is no wonder that Spain is the favourite for the trophy.
England have struggled so far in the group and have taken five points for a win and two draws, plus they have played extra time twice and were not far away in the semi-finals.
However, defence is their strong point and we will see an interesting encounter, where it will not be clear until the last minutes who will be happy at the end.
De la Fuente at the press conference
“I’ll leave it to the journalists and the bookmakers to decide who is the favourite. They have their analyses, we have ours. England and Spain are the two best teams in the tournament, that’s why they are in the final.
It’s going to be a close game, it’s the details that decide these games. But with all due respect to our opponent, we will go for the win,” said coach Luis de La Fuente at the press conference
“We are in the final because of our game, our philosophy. We must continue to stick to it, the players must continue to believe in it. At the same time, I want them to enjoy the game they fought hard for. I feel a great determination from the team, we have a chance to make history,” he added.
“The whole of Spain is cheering for us, whether here or at home. We want to give them a reason to celebrate and bring them the trophy. It’s a huge motivation, I’m already proud of my team. I love these games. I’m like a gladiator, I like standing in the middle of the arena,” he finished.
