Slovan Bratislava will face the Conference Europa League playoffs on Thursday, having to make up for a one-goal loss against Zrinjski Mostar at home. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
The start of Slovan’s cup season has been full of ups and downs. It started with a lucky promotion over Dinamo Batumi, then a drop into the Europa League after a total loss to Ferencváros and another drop into the Conference League playoffs with Olympiakos.
Mostar, on the other hand, is writing a fairy tale. After finishing in the Champions League with Tiraspol, it knocked out Tirana in the second round of the Conference League, then Tobol Kostonaj, and then topped it all off with a home win over Slovan Bratislava.
On the home side, winger David Hrncar, author of five goals and one assist, shines. Armenian international and offensive all-rounder Tigran Barseghyan scored three times and assisted twice, while the experienced Juraj Kucka lifted the midfield.
The visitors rely on Bosnian national team striker and team captain Nemanja Bilbi, he has hit four times this season. Talented Croatian offensive midfielder Niko Jankovic boasts a 2+2 record.
Slovan relies on a goal-scoring attack, scoring more than once in four of their last five games, including once against Olympiakos.
Mostar, on the other hand, has defended well, conceding only twice in the last four games while scoring seven times.
Considering Slovan’s shooting form and experience in cup matches, I think Slovan will win in a stormy home environment.
