Slovakian international Milan Škriniar has been officially confirmed as a new signing for Paris Saint-Germain, although his transfer from Inter has been clear for some time. Škriniar has parted ways with the Nerazzurri as a free agent, and will begin a new chapter of his football career at PSG.

A central defender of the quality that the Slovak Republic last remembers in the form of Martin Škrtel. Milan Škriniar could also be described in these words.

The 28-year-old defender is moving on after six long years. He will swap the Italian fashion centre Milan for the French capital and strengthen the PSG squad.

However, the Nerazzurri will hold almost no ransom for the Slovakian stopper. Škriniar’s contract expired at the end of June, so he left for France as a free agent.

Škriniar had already agreed a multi-year contract with the Parisians in January, so his transfer was imminent then. But the question still remained whether Inter would eventually be able to convince the Slovakian to sign a new contract.

As a result, this did not happen and PSG are now looking forward to a new face in the defensive ranks. Just today, or Thursday, July 6, the French giant finally presented the new signing in an official way.

Škriniar has signed in Paris for five years and will thus be a PSG tribal player until at least June 2028. With a current value of around €50 million, he is the most valuable Slovakian footballer ever.

The team from the French capital thus writes another new name in the squad for the upcoming season.

“I am happy to be part of this great club. PSG is one of the strongest clubs in the world with first-class players and fantastic fans,” said Škriniar after the official presentation.
