Slovakia at the World Championships in Qatar? Thanks to Russia’s elimination, there is hope for the Slovaks

Last autumn, the hopes of the Slovak national football team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar were dashed. However, new hope was injected into the Slovaks’ veins by Russia’s elimination from all FIFA and UEFA competitions.
The Slovak national football team has started to cut its teeth for the vacant place in the barrage for the World Cup in Qatar. The Russians were knocked out, leaving a vacancy in the clash with Poland.
It was still undecided whether Poland would be supplemented or would advance to the final fight automatically. The Czechs and Swedes will face each other in the second semi-final.
Why is Slovakia getting its hopes up? Because they were the ones who finished third behind Russia in the World Cup qualification. So there is a possibility that after their elimination, they could get second place and replace them in the barrage.
The match between Russia and Poland was originally scheduled for March 24. The winner of the match would then face the winner of the Sweden vs. Czech Republic duel to qualify for the World Cup.
Now it is up to FIFA to decide what happens to the Polish national football team. One option is that they advance without a fight, the other option is just the addition of their Slovakia match. However, it could also be that the Czech Republic, Poland and Sweden form a small group.
The winner of this group, where all teams would play each other, would advance to the World Cup in Qatar. Slovakia would then be out of luck and there would be no hope for them to qualify.
