Slavia Prague were eliminated in the Europa League group stage, where they lost to Cluj and Sivasspor. The Seškis played a very controversial six matches, from which they won only eight points against three relatively weaker teams. How did individual players perform in these six matches?

Yira Sor 5, Stanislav Tecl 4-, Christ Tiéhi 4-, Ewerton 4-, Taras Kacharaba 4-

Yira Sor was injured for a long time and when he came back he was not seen in the games at all. It was definitely also due to the fact that all of Slavia’s opponents played from the deep block, which is exactly the opposite of what Sor likes.

Tecl showed he can score goals in the league, but he couldn’t score in Europe. He started all six games and especially against Sivasspor he showed that he can burn the impossible.

Christ Tiéhi didn’t prove in either game that he could be a big contributor. He was bloodless, lacking offensive extension. He looked very boho on the field at times.

Like Tecl or Tiéhi, Ewerton started all the games and even he can’t be said to have had an outright good game. He probably played his best in both games against Sivaspor and in Kosovo, where he had some bright moments on the offensive end.

Taras Kacharaba has been criticized by Slavia fans for a long time. Although he didn’t make a big mistake, he didn’t overflow with confidence. Probably the most successful match was in Kosovo.

Below average: Aleš Mandous 3-, Ibrahim Traoré 4, Lukáš Masopust 3-, Oscar Dorley 3-, Moses Usor 3-, David Douděra 3-, Aiham Ousou 4

Ales Mandous only played two games in Sivas and with Ballkani. He probably couldn’t catch the goals, although at least the one in Turkey was rather unfortunate.

Ibrahim Traoré has shown many times that he is really good in games where something is at stake. But that has not been the case this European Cup season. The Ivorian midfielder was more of a shadow of his former self.

Lukáš Masopust did score the winning goal against Ballkani, but otherwise he didn’t play very good games. He still struggles at times with the position of a full-back, where he sometimes makes naive mistakes.

Oscar Dorley is an unassuming but reliable footballer. He started at right back in a pinch at Cluj and with all due respect to him, he didn’t play well there. On the other hand, in the centre of midfield he hasn’t lost his way at all.

Moses Usor faded more and more as the season progressed. Against Sivas, Cluj and Ballkani, he didn’t score a goal or an assist and was mostly mired in stereotypical actions. He rarely really enlivened the game.

David Douděra also learned that European cups are a level above the league, where he can send dangerous centres into the box and close down the back post himself. He wasn’t so good at that in Europe.

Aiham Ousou showed that he still has fluctuations in performance. Sometimes he plays like a god, sometimes he’s completely out of sorts. He tried to hold up the Slavia defence, but he’s obviously not experienced enough for that role yet.

Average: Tomáš Holeš 2-, Ivan Schranz 3, Lukáš Provod 3, Petr Ševčík 2-, Ondřej Lingr 3, Ondřej Kolář 3

Tomas Holeš played only the first game of the group in Sivas and he was certainly one of the better players in a Slavic jersey. Unfortunately he got injured in this game and didn’t play more.

For a change, Ivan Schranz was stopped by a rough looking injury that was inadvertently inflicted on him by a Ballkani player. Until then, Schranz was one of the better players in the Slavia team.

Lukas Provod may have thrown away a penalty in Sivas, but he was still one of those Slavs who tried to defy adversity and take the reins of the game into his own hands. However, he too missed three games due to injury.

Petr Shevchik is the perpetual injury underdog. He showed his quality in the games he entered. He just needs to stay healthy longer so the team can draw on his abilities.

Ondrej Lingr showed once again that he can score important goals. In Kosovo, he was decisive in the 1: 0 victory. However, against Sivasspor he did not confirm this role, throwing away three or four decent opportunities.

Ondřej Kolář probably didn’t even hope that he would see the back of the net for Slavia. The injury to Ales Mandous made it possible. It has to be said that he dealt with it well, although he didn’t have as many saves as he did in the Czech league.

They stood out: Peter Olayinka 2, David Jurásek 2

Peter Olayinka scored in Turkey and was a proper captain at home against Sivasspor. He also scored against Ballkani. He was the only one to play a full 540 minutes.

David Jurasek was very determined and showed offensive appetites in all the games he entered. Not every centre was successful, but he was one of the few who kept a decent form.

Not rated: Matěj Jurásek, Eduardo Santos, Ondřej Kričfaluši

These three players played too few minutes. Matěj Jurásek especially against Sivasspor showed potential. Eduardo Santos only got a chance thanks to Ousou’s injury. Ondrej Kričfaluši played only four minutes.
