Slavia Prague finally managed to win the Conference League. They did it at home against Maccabi Haifa, beating them 1:0. The match was decided by Jan Kuchta.

Slavia Prague managed to beat Maccabi Haifa 1:0 in the 4th round of the Conference League group stage and thanks to the win they moved up to the second place. The only goal of the match was scored by Jan Kuchta.

Two weeks ago Slavia lost to the same opponent. In Thursday’s match they had to work hard to keep their chances of promotion. The game went well and the victory was in the world.

The Israelis held the second promotion place until Thursday, but lost it. Slavia replaced them and for now it would be they who would advance to the spring knockout stage.

Already in the 8th minute a controversial situation occurred when Kuchta ended up on the ground in the visitors’ penalty area. However, the referee did not call a penalty. Despite this, Slavia did not give up immediately. They were the more active team throughout the first half and outshot the Israelis.

It wasn’t the same in the end. However, the activity was carried over into the second half and it paid off. In the 49th minute, Jan Kuchta finished off a shot by Baha into an empty net. The Slavs took the lead.

After a while, Bah had a chance again. However, he shot only into the crossbar. Slavia Prague defended the result 1: 0. Maccabi Haifa didn’t allow any more chances and deservedly kept the three points at home.

Slavia Prague took revenge on their opponent for the last defeat. It managed to move up to the second promotion position. First Feyenoord have 10 points, second Slavia 6, third Haifa 4 and last Union Berlin 3.

So everyone can advance for now. Three games to go in the group stage. The next one is scheduled for 25 November against the leading team Feyenoord.
