Slavia will travel to San Siro with a significant reinforcement! Stanek added to Europa League roster, injured Kolář makes way

Slavia will face AC Milan in the Europa League semi-final on Wednesday at the hot San Siro ground. However, they will go into the clash with the Italian giant with a significant reinforcement in the form of goalkeeper Jindřich Stanek. He was added to the roster in place of the injured Ondrej Kolář.
Jindřich Staněk made his debut for Slavia in the Prague derby on Sunday. And he kept a clean sheet, although the match of the 23rd round of the Fortuna Liga did not offer much beauty and scoring opportunities.
However, it’s a big boost for the goalkeeper’s confidence after the injury, and he made several good saves in Sunday’s match. For example, he turned away Lukáš Haraslín’s chance in the opening minutes, as well as defused his attempt from the 59th minute.
The packed Letná Letná saw a mostly tactical battle that did not offer many chances. As expected, the defences dominated. Jindřich Staněk was on the Slavic side for the first time in a competitive match.
“Jindra wanted to make this match at any cost, he prepared for two weeks, I appreciate it very much. He could have waited for a week, but after two training sessions he wanted to go for it and he did it perfectly,” praised his goalkeeper coach Jindřich Trpišovský.
After the performance in the derby, Slavia had no reason not to put him on the roster for the Europa League, where Stanek replaced the injured Ondrej Kolar. This news was officially confirmed by the Susians on Monday afternoon on their club website.
Slavia will travel to San Siro with Stanek
“Jindřich Staněk has healed his injured calf after joining Slavia in the winter and has had a clean sheet in the 310th derby. He replaced Ondrej Kolar, who is suffering from a fractured fibula, on the Europa League roster,” says Slavia on its website.
Staněk has a lot of experience with European Cup matches from his previous engagement, i.e. from Viktoria Plzeň. For Slavia, this is an important reinforcement for the spring phase of the European Cups. The match will start on Thursday at 21:00.
