Slavia Prague has never faced Fenerbahce in its modern history, but the two rivals have run into each other in their nearly 130-year existence! Can you guess in which year?

The last time the Sevivans faced the Turkish giant was on their trip to Istanbul in August 1925! That’s a whopping 97 years ago. The red and white dominated the match and gave the home team a proverbial drubbing (5::0).

The Slavic Museum boasted beautiful period photos and listed the scorers of all 5 goals. The history of this tweet just oozes history.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the same result was repeated in the Conference Europa League play-offs? It would help Czech club football a lot, because we are fighting with Turkey for the key 15th place in the national coefficient ranking.

However, this Turkish mission will not be easy at all, and the Susians are not in optimal form. They have lost their last two matches and have not scored a single goal.

Anyway, a small positive news (for Slavia) is the fact that European away games are played mainly on zero at the back. The team’s defensive performance can be significantly improved even in a short period of time.

Thursday will show if history will repeat itself. Kickoff between Slavia and Fenerbahce is at 18:45 our time (in Turkey it will be 2 hours more). Most Czech fans, however, would be satisfied with any win by the Sešiovans.
