Slavia played preparation with Gliwice, Rangers with Real Madrid. How is that possible?!

Slavia Prague played only one match against Gliwice in the summer preparation due to coronavirus. The Scottish champion Glasgow Rangers, with whom Slavia successfully played in the eighth round of the Europa League, can arrange a match with the famous Real Madrid. How is that possible?!

To make matters worse, Slavia played Piast Gliwice somewhere in Austria. Rangers invited Real nicely to their home ground, Ibrox Stadium. If you’re lurking, sit back down.

The explanation is simple. Since the Spanish top flight doesn’t start until August 13, Real Madrid have only played their first preliminary match. The Scottish Premiership doesn’t start until this weekend. Rangers have had time.

As much as Slavia wanted to, it just wouldn’t work. The Seškis were due to kick off in Zlín at the same time as the Glasgow game.

For the record, Rangers managed to beat their opponents 2-1 at home.

They allowed Real only one shot on target and won 21:5 on shots.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti confided a long time ago that his biggest regret in his coaching career was losing the Istanbul final to Liverpool.

And that he subsequently failed to bring Gerrard to the San Siro because of it. Steven, it seems, is still not letting Ancelotti sleep!
