Slavia left an impression and grace in Europe! See what Feyenoord and its fans told her

Who knows how the rematch in Eden would have turned out if it wasn’t for individual mistakes in the Sešiovans’ defence. Anyway, the Slavs don’t have to be ashamed to say goodbye to Europe with grace and leave a good impression. The reaction of Feyenoord fans and the club itself speaks for that. Slavia Prague said goodbye to the European Conference League on Thursday. It was brought down by its own mistakes in the double-header with Feyenoord, yet it fought fiercely until the last moments for the coveted semi-final.

The overall result of the double match with the Dutch side was 6:4 for Feyenoord (3:3 and 1:3 for Slavia). The Sešiovans suffered from a narrow squad for the UEFA competitions and numerous injuries. On the other hand, it must be said that Arne Slota’s charges were a bit further ahead in terms of individual quality.

The Czech football community is of course disappointed with the elimination of Slavia. On the other hand, after the pre-round fiasco (in the LM and EL), who would have thought that this team would make it to the quarter-finals of a European competition again.

Yes, it was “only” the ECL, but the white and red team faced the toughest group and met interesting teams in the knockout part. Thanks to their steady performance in the European Cup, the Slavs are among the absolute top.

The reaction of Feyenoord and its fans

Slavia, via their English Twitter page, congratulated Feyenoord on their progress and told them that they are sure to go far in the ECL.

Feyenoord Rotterdam thanked and said they loved the wonderful matches together. He also wished Slavia good luck in the Czech top competition.

And what about the fans? “Unbelievable matches! In the group stage I was at the game in Eden, this time I watched the game from home, it was an honour to meet you. By the way, you have beautiful jerseys,” a fan pointed out the common colours of the home jerseys.

“You are one of the coolest clubs we have played with in the last years. Great fans and great commitment! It was an honor to meet you 4 times in one season.”

“Respect for your sportsmanship. You are a great club and I wish you every success.”

“It’s a shame that the EKL final is not between Feyenoord and Slavia. Both teams guarantee remarkable football. I hope you win your league.”
