The European Conference League is often overlooked in the competition of the Europa League and Champions League. Yet fans see more goals per game on average in the ECL (2.9) than in the more lucrative EL (2.66); on the other hand, the most goals are scored in the prestigious Champions League (3.02).

But now we will focus mainly on the numbers of Prague Slavia. The Sešiovans are in the top positions in four measures. They have the second highest number of goals scored (21), only Bodø/Glimt have more (23). In shots, the Slavs are third behind Vitesse (165) and LASK Linz (141), while Jindřich Trpišovský’s charges have let in 133 shots so far.

Slavia is also very successful in defensive statistics and in pressing. In terms of balls won in foot-to-foot duels, the Slavs are the fourth best team with 82. Ahead of them are AZ Alkmaar, LASK Linz and Vitesse.

In the aforementioned pressing, the white-and-red are also in fourth place, having won 404 balls through their constant attacking and pressuring of their opponents. PAOK is more successful by 5 balls, followed by Bodø/Glimt (420 pressed balls) and Partizan Belgrade (454).

What to focus on, perhaps?

On the other hand, the Sevivans are not among the top teams in passing accuracy (79% on average), but that’s not a bad average at all.

On the other hand, what the Slavs really need to improve this European season is their play in their own penalty area. They are conceding a lot of goals, they have already got 16, and they should be more disciplined as they are the most punished team in the whole competition (31 penalties and 2 PCs).

Slavia Prague on average keep the ball in 53.6% of the game time in EKL matches. AZ Alkmaar is the best in this metric so far with 59%, Karabakh is second with 59% and Sparta Prague is third with 58%, but this indicator is very skewed here as the Letna team has only appeared in two matches in the EKL.
