Slavia doesn’t have to be sad! They will not suffer financially in the Conference League and can earn more than Sparta in the EL
Slavia couldn’t get past Legia Warsaw, which saddened all the fans of the Sešiovans. But they can hold their heads up high, because thanks to the newly formed Conference League, they won’t be without cups and the financial injection will also be decent.

Last year’s bonus for starting in the Europa League regular group was €2.94 million. The same bonus will now be given to teams in the Conference League, and in the Europa League it has risen to €3.6 million.
The winning team will receive 500,000 euros for winning the Conference League. Whoever wins a match in the Europa League will have 630,000 euros added to their coffers. That’s not such a difference. The difference is even smaller for draws, where it amounts to 166,000 euros – CL, 210,000 euros – EL.
The first place in the Conference League group pays a bonus of 650,000 euros, the second place 325,000 euros. For the same positions in the Europa League, the club collects 1.1 million euros, or 550,000 euros.
There is a difference in the knockout stages, but let’s take a look at Prague’s S now. Sparta will be in the third basket, so they can catch several very difficult groups. Whereas Slavia will be seeded in the first basket and should get weaker opponents on paper.
If last year’s scenario repeats itself, with Sparta finishing third with 6 points and Slavia second with 12 points, the Susians would earn even more than their rivals.
In this case, Slavia would have earned €5,470,000 after the participation bonus (2.94), four wins (500t), second place (325t) and the promotion bonus (300t). And of course, the Seychellois would have cashed in further for any further advancements.
Sparta’s progression bonus is €3.6m, and if the two wins (630t) are included, the Letians would collect €4,890,000.
Sparta, in case of third place, would go to the Conference League playoffs, where they would already have the same rewards as Slavia. It would have to go further than the Susians to earn more.
So the Conference League is not evil, but an opportunity for Czech teams to get more points in the coefficient and in some cases earn more money.
