Slavia will play Sivaspor from Turkey in the first match of the Conference League group. The Sevivs were picked from the first basket and are the favourites to win the group. The first game in Turkey will give a hint how Slavia will manage to fulfil these expectations.

Slavia, Cluj, Sivasspor, Balkani. That’s how Group G of the Conference League reads. Slavia should be the favourite to advance from first place, although it is definitely not an easy group.

The Sešiovans have been in good form lately, but their momentum was only stopped by Slovácko, where Slavia drew 1:1. Before that, they won four matches with a score of 19: 0.

And that included the match against Raków, a play-off for the Conference League. Slavia lost the first match 1::2, in the return match Ivan Schranz scored a goal to send the match into extra time, where in the 120th minute the Red and White decided to advance.

Sivasspor fought for the Europa League, but did not qualify for it after 1:3 and 0:2 defeats to Malmö of Sweden. So they have to take the Conference League.

But so far in the new season, the Turkish team is not doing well at all. It hasn’t won a single game out of eight, after a 0:4 loss to Trabzonspor in the Super Cup and the aforementioned losses to Malmö, it lost to Demirspor and Besiktas in the league and drew with Gaziantep, Karagumruk and Alanyaspor.

Thus, Sivasspor’s overall record this season is 8 matches, 5 defeats and 3 draws. Slavia played 13 matches in which they won nine times, drew twice and lost twice.

At the moment, apart from the match with Slovácko, Slavia is in great shooting form and is scoring goals like on a treadmill. At the same time, Sivasspor, like traditional Turkish teams, doesn’t have a completely organized and solid defensive line, so I think we could see at least three goals.
