Sivak has clearly set the terms! If his opponent does not meet them, he can forget about the match
The RFA champion in the weight category up to 66 kilograms according to K1 rules Václav Sivák has his first title defence ahead of him. His opponent will be Ruslan Tokhtarov, who failed to meet the weight limit by 2 kilograms.
The RFA champion in the weight category up to 66 kg according to K1 rules Václav Sivák has his first title defence ahead of him. His opponent will be Ruslan Tokhtarov, who failed to meet the weight limit by 2 kilograms.
Apart from losing a significant part of his payday, he is still not 100% sure that the fight will take place, because Sivak’s team has set a condition that the fight will only take place if Tokhtarov weighs the same weight before today’s tournament as he did at Friday’s public weigh-in.
Promoter Marhansky, Sivak and Tokhtarov did not specify what the exact weight was. Because Tokhtarov was extremely skinny at the official weigh-in at 68 kg, he was heavily supplemented afterwards.
At the public weigh-in at the Elan Shopping Center, host Jakub Kotek asked Sivak if he had considered taking the fight. The Czech Bad Boy replied that he doesn’t think about the weight at all and that the most important thing for him is the fight itself.
However, his team insisted and the fight will only take place on the condition that Tokhtarov does not gain weight by Saturday. Both fighters are currently on a winning streak and are undefeated within the RFA organization.
The champion Sivak has fought in two fights so far and managed to finish both on points. Neither Alexis Laugeois nor Patrik Zadera could find a recipe for him and although both showed tremendous resilience and a hard chin, they didn’t even think about winning.
Tokhtarov won the title in his last fight against Jakub Kroft. He was a big odds-on underdog before the fight, but the flow of the match was absolutely not up to expectations and Tokhtarov dominated especially on the hardness of his punches.
If Tokhtarov meets Sivak’s team, one of the fighters will lose his RFA undefeated record tomorrow. But given his past experience, it’s likely he won’t be able to meet the condition.
