Sir Jim Ratcliffe bought a 25% stake in the famous big club. What does this mean for Manchester United?
It will have been a year since the sale of the club from the hands of the Glazer family at Old Trafford at least began to be addressed. It has long been mooted that Manchester United would be sold into the hands of the Sheikhs. In the end, however, Sir Jim Ratcliffe prevailed, buying a 25% stake in the club from its American owners. What can Red Devils fans expect in the near future?

Manchester United may buy around in the winter
During the summer transfer window, fans in the red part of Manchester have been dealing with transfer budgets. The American owners were said to be behind everything, as they didn’t want to invest further in the club as they were dealing with a sale. So the whole club was on its own and had to sell first in order to buy.
André Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund in particular joined the club in the summer. Reinforcements that cost almost 200 million euros. It should be noted that players also left the club. Fred, Elanga and goalkeeper Matej Kovar had to pack their bags. The club saved mainly on wages, as the players in the club receive absurd amounts of money that do not correspond to their performance.
In the current situation, United can be expected to make purchases during the winter period. The right winger in particular would come in handy as Manchester have been pressing the boot for several seasons now and Antony’s 100 million from Ajax has not solved the problem. Furthermore, the stopper position should be sorted out, as veteran Jonny Evans has featured in recent games.
Erik ten Haag’s support
According to ESPN, the new at least co-owner of the club should support the current manager. Of course, even Ratcliffe realizes that the situation the club is currently in is not ideal. He should make it clear to Red Devils fans that supporting the manager should be a top priority. Especially as there is no other equally capable coach available at the moment.
Another thing should be to clear the air in the cabin, as some players reportedly don’t like the tactics and practices of the Dutch coach. Ratcliffe should intervene, as the Dutch strategist seems to be as out of control in the cabin as Rangnick or Solskjær.
Message to United fans
Sir Jim Ratcliffe sent a message to the English club’s fans right at the start of his tenure: “Our ambitions are clear. We want to see Manchester United where they belong, at the top of English and European football.”
He also promised fans the benefit of global knowledge from the INEOS Sport group, which should lead to improvements at the club. Furthermore, Ratcliff promises to provide funding for both transfers and the eventual redevelopment of Old Trafford. In conclusion, the Englishman added that he and his partners are committed to working with everyone at the club, from the board to the fans, to move Manchester United forward.
Over the next few months, we will probably be able to assess what has changed at the club. If anything. The fans in particular are ecstatic after this emotional message. Let’s see if the enthusiasm continues in a few months’ time.
