Simon Kjaer – The new football personality?

Simon Kjaer probably needs no introduction, the whole world knows him after the Denmark – Finland match.

After the sudden cardiac arrest of his teammate Eriksen, videos flooded the internet showing Simon Kjaer reacting to his sudden collapse and within seconds rushing over to him and immediately making sure his tongue was not stuck.

Not only did his swift reaction contribute to Eriksen being among the living, but also, as soon as the paramedics arrived, he immediately called all his teammates to surround the Danish midfielder’s lifeless body.

He did so so that the cameras and fans would not see Eriksen. Minutes later, he was comforting his hysterically crying wife (full name Sabrina Kvist Jensen), with whom Eriksen has two children.

Kjaer and his support was extremely important. Together with him, Danish national team goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel helped to comfort Eriksen’s wife.

Schmeichel’s father Peter subsequently spoke to the Daily Mail. “I spoke to Kasper later in the evening and he told me that she really thought he was dead,” the British media outlet quoted the Manchester United legend as saying.

Here we can see how important the psychological support was for Sabrina. Both Kjaer and Schmeichel showed the world that their hearts were in the right place.
