Abdallah Sim is not doing too well after leaving Slavia. He spent last season on loan at Stoke and since the summer he has been at Angers. However, they are at the very bottom of the table and six rounds before the end of the season they can’t stave off relegation.

In the 2020/2021 season, Abdallah Sima’s great form was one of the main reasons why Slavia reached the Europa League quarter-finals. The Senegalese youngster also helped his team significantly in their successful battle for the league title, scoring eleven goals in the Fortuna Liga.

There was a lot of interest in Sima and he eventually signed for Brighton. However, he would not feature much under coach Graham Potter, who recently retired from the Chelsea bench, so he went on loan to Stoke.

Also due to injury, he played only two games in the Championship. He made five starts for the under-23 team, scoring four goals. However, this engagement was not successful at all, which is why Sima headed on another loan last summer to get match practice.

This time he chose Angers. He has been a fairly regular in the French side, but in the last five games he has only been on the pitch from the substitutes’ bench.

The Senegalese international has 28 league starts to his credit, in which he has played 1420 minutes. Therefore, if he gets on the pitch, he spends an average of 50 minutes on it.

During his time on the pitch, Sima has scored three goals and assisted one. He is therefore tied for fourth place in the Angers goal scorers table. Only Adrien Hunou and Sofiane Boufal have scored more goals (four). The latter has been out of the team since the winter.

After 32 games played, coach Alexnadre Dujeux’s team has only fourteen points. As four teams will be relegated in Ligue 1 this season, there is no chance for salvation.

It will be interesting to see how Sima’s career develops. He will return to Brighton in the summer and the question is whether he will get an opportunity under new coach Robert De Zerbi.

The Seagulls have a great chance to break into the European Cups. If they do, they will need a wider squad. This could just be the chance for the former Slavia player.
