The Czech national football team finished third in the World Cup qualification group and thus failed to meet its goals. They made it to the barrage thanks to the Nations League, but FAČR boss Petr Fousek said he would nevertheless like to talk to the coach and his coaching staff about their position. These words did not please Jaroslav Šilhavy very much.
Petr Fousek, the head of the Football Association of the Czech Republic, said after the barrage that he was not satisfied with the third place and decided to talk to Jaroslav Šilhavy about the position of the national team coach, as well as the rest of the coaching staff.
Šilhavy was not pleased with these words and in an interview with ČT Sport he talked about how sorry he was about these words. It must be added, however, that the goal was second place, which was not met.
“I’m a bit sorry that the work we have done here for three years is still going up, and now our staying will depend on whether we advance or not,” Šilhavý said on Dohráno Plus.
Šilhavý then added that he would like everything to be sorted out before the barrage, in which the Czech team will not face easy opponents.
However, assistant Jiří Chytrý said that he does not consider the qualification a failure despite the third place. And these are the points where he disagrees with Fousek.
The question is whether the same coaches will lead the Czech team into the barrage. It must be added, however, that there are not many names that could replace them at the moment.
