The San Jose Sharks are a hot topic in the current NHL season. He got a ten for the second game in a row! And it was Sidney Crosby who made his 1200th NHL start.

Sidney Crosby reached the breathtaking milestone of demolishing the Sharks 10-2 on their ice, with the Pittsburgh star contributing one assist.

The Canadian hockey player, who began his 19th season in a Penguins jersey, breaking Mario Lemieux’s club record of 18, hasn’t let up from his standard of more than a point per game this season. He has already recorded 11 points (5+6) in 10 games this season.

Milestones

In historical stats, he ranks 15th in points so far (1,512). He ranks 29th in goals (555) and 15th in assists (957). Once again, we have a hockey player who will rise up the historical charts by the end of the season, just like we literally devoured Jaromir Jagr a few seasons ago.

How far can he climb by the end of the season?

Considering the Penguins captain stays healthy and plays the entire season, he will likely leapfrog several legends by the end of the season. In points, he’ll slowly attack the elite 10, which is rounded out by Phil Esposito (1590).

In goals, he could reach the 21st position, which is occupied by Mark Recchi, who is 22 hits behind him. And in assists, he can be expected to break the mythical 1,000 mark as the 14th player in history.

Achievements

At the national team level, he won everything he could. Namely, two Olympic Games (2010 and 2014), the World Championship (2015) and the World Championship (2005), plus the World Cup (2016).

Since he has also won 3 Stanley Cups with the Penguins (2009, 2016 and 2017), he is also a member of the prestigious Triple Gold Club, which brings together hockey players who have won the Olympics, World Championships and the Stanley Cup.
