The main problem was reportedly the transfer strategy. The ideas of Gennaro Gattuso and his agent, Jorge Mendes, did not match the ideas of the club’s management, as Fabrizio Romano stated on his Twitter account.
Gattuso wanted Porto midfielder Sergio Oliveira and Valencia striker Gonçalo Guedes, both of whom are represented by Mendes, from the club.
However, Fiorentina’s management wanted to invest a relatively smaller amount of money in the transfers.
