Shevchik or Jankto? Slavia’s Šikula played well, but Jankto will be more valid against the Danes

The Czech Republic will face Denmark in the quarter-finals of the European Championship on Saturday. There are several question marks in the lineup, with the returning pair of Vladimir Darida, Jan Bořil, on the other hand, three players asked for the lineup on Sunday. One of them is Petr Ševčík.
It was a shock to everyone when Petr Ševčík appeared on the left wing in the Czech Republic’s line-up for the match against the Netherlands. Jakub Jankt’s performance was really not good, but Czech fans were expecting more Adam Hložek.
They condemned the choice of Jaroslav Šilhavy, saying that his Slavic past was evident. ” Average Ševčík instead of the best scorer in the league, it will be a shame…”
But it wasn’t a shame. Ševčík played well and his rotation with Antonín Barák gave the Dutch a problem. Once again he confirmed his great fitness, and he certainly didn’t skimp on the pace. He moved to the middle, where he feels a bit better.
“The left wing doesn’t bother me at all. I have experience from Slavia, coach Trpišovský sometimes puts me there. Most of the time I don’t have the tasks of a classic winger, but I also pull myself into the middle. I think that helped us in the match,” he told iSport.
However, it will be quite different against the Danes. They, like the Dutch, play in a three-defender system, but not 3-5-2 but 3-4-3. And that’s a big difference from the wingers’ point of view.
They need to hold the line or help the outside backs, as there are two wingers (a winger and a wing-back) running against them. And Jankto, who has the left wing as his primary post, is much more used to this role.
So, from that perspective, it would make sense to give space in the starting eleven to the Sampdoria Genoa midfielder and send Shevchik to play on a tired defence. Let’s see how Jaroslav Šilhavy decides.
