Dundalk have an important game in the Irish League title fight on Friday, travelling to Shelbourne and if they win they will be two points behind the leaders. What to expect from the game and what to bet on?
Shelbourne have not done well at all in the last two rounds and after losing 0:2 to Shamrock and 0:1 to Bohemians, they dropped to seventh place. Despite this, they are still in the cup race, seven points behind fourth-placed St. Patrick’s with a game to spare.
Dundalk, on the other hand, are happy with their current form, winning their last six league rounds, which keeps them in the title race. If they win on Monday, they will be just two points behind second-placed leaders Shamrock.
Sean Boyd is firing in the home jersey, the tidy spike striker has hit six times so far. Talented right winger Shane Farrell has scored three goals and three assists at the age of twenty-one.
Patrick Hoban is doing well on the away side, as a top striker he has scored nine times and assisted twice. Twenty-year-old Scottish winger Steven Bradley scored six goals and assisted six more.
Shelbourne have struggled in attack, scoring more than once in only three of their last nine games.
Moreover, Dundalk hardly score any goals, only three in the last six rounds, scoring more than once in only one of the last seventeen games.
Considering Dundalk’s form and especially given Shelbourne’s dysfunctional attack, I think the visitors will win and stretch their winning streak to seven games.
