Barcelona may be hit by more departures this summer. Seven players could leave the Camp Nou for free, led by Ousmane Dembele. Which other players have their futures uncertain?
Without a doubt, the most tangible loss could be the departure of French footballer Ousmane Dembélé. He has been in great form under new coach Xavi and has attracted the interest of several European clubs. The club has been in contract extension talks with the player for some time now, but so far without success.
Next on the list is Dani Alves. He has only recently arrived to mentally lift the squad, but he has quickly become the cornerstone of the entire squad. He has surprised Catalan fans with his performances, who are hoping for him to stay at the club. Even the Brazilian himself has expressed that he would like to stay at Barcelona. So everything depends on the decision of the club’s management.
Sergi Roberto has been gradually disappearing from the lineup of the Catalan club in recent seasons, so there was speculation about his summer departure. Moreover, he has been struggling with a muscle injury for a long time. Despite these facts, both parties are to negotiate a new contract, all to be finalized in the coming days.
On the other hand, Luuk de Jong surprised everyone after his arrival. He will probably never be Barcelona’s number one striker, however, he fits perfectly into the team as a joker until the last minutes. He has already contributed several very important goals and saved many points for Barcelona. De Jong himself should be happy with this role, so there is nothing to prevent the contract extension.
It is a completely different story with Adama Traore, who has joined the club on loan. However, the club is not going to exercise the transfer option, so Traore will most likely return to Wolves.
Jandro Orellano is also out of contract. He is a very talented footballer from La Masia who was called up to the first team after Xavi’s arrival. Barcelona should keep this youngster.
Ferran Jutgla is in a similar position. He already has more experience of La Liga games, but he still lacks game experience. That is why the Barcelona management wants to extend the contract of this player to send him on loan soon.
