And it’s decided. The match between Slovácko and Cologne was postponed for a long time, but in the end it was decided to play. But it didn’t last too long. After seven minutes, the match was abandoned and postponed. What did Michal Kadlec say and when will the game be played?
The match was scheduled to start at 18:45. Slovácko can still fight for the promotion from the Conference League. The game against Cologne could be crucial. But the heavy fog made it difficult.
First, the start was postponed for half an hour, then the fate of the match was to be decided at 20:00. In the end, the decision was made to play, but after seven minutes the situation worsened and play stopped.
Several minutes were spent waiting for the next decision. However, the match was not restarted. There was a postponement and the game is scheduled to be played on Friday at 13:00.
“It makes no sense. Nobody can see anything, it was complicated. It’s irregular conditions, they change every two minutes. Sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse,” Slovácko captain Michal Kadlec told ČT Sport.
Among other things, the experienced defender recalls last season when the MOL Cup final match had to be postponed due to the weather. This time, however, the match was postponed for a longer period of time. Slovácko was able to overcome Sparta, thanks to which they celebrated their first club trophy.
“If it had turned out the same way, we wouldn’t have been angry. Maybe it will bring us luck,” Kadlec added.
Coach Martin Svědík revealed that the Bundesliga team proposed the alternative date and Slovácko had to agree. He sees the postponement as the right decision. At the beginning, however, he hoped that the fog would lift and it would be possible to play.
It is worth mentioning that the fans did not let the mood be spoiled and created a great and relaxed atmosphere. Both the Moravian and the German ones.
