Sergio Ramos receives his first red card at PSG! Watch his quick sending off
Sergio Ramos and red cards, they kind of go together. Although he’s mellowed a lot in his later years and has only been sent off once in the last two seasons, no one can deny him that reputation. And he built on it at PSG, where he saw a red card in his third start.
Sergio Ramos and red cards, they kind of go together. Although he’s mellowed a lot in his later years and has only been sent off once in the last two seasons, no one can deny him that reputation. And he built on it at PSG, where he saw a red card in his third start.
PSG played at Lorient in the 19th round, which was supposed to be a formality, as the home side are second to last in the table.
Messi, however, was missing his usual partners Neymar and Messi by his side, so the Argentine combo Di María – Icardi – Messi jumped into the attack. But it didn’t lead to anything for a long time.
And in the 40th minute, Monconduit made the game difficult for the PSG stars, sending Lorient into the lead with a vital shot on the crossbar. Sergio Ramos came on in the second half, but he didn’t last on the pitch until the final whistle.
In the 81st minute he saw his first yellow card for a foul, but even that did not calm him down. In the 86th minute, a Lorient striker tried to tackle him and Ramos was sent off. He saw his second yellow card in five minutes and had to head to the showers early.
It was also Ramos’ 27th red card of his professional career, his first in a PSG jersey. Even with ten men, the Parisians managed to at least equalise when Icardi scored in the 91st minute after a pass from Hakimi. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
