Nate Diaz is known as a controversial figure in the UFC
Every MMA fan knows that the younger of the Diaz brothers is a controversial figure to say the least. In his time, he was a truly successful UFC fighter whose most famous moment came in 2016.
That’s when he actually forced the knockout of the legendary Conor McGregor, who at the time was pulling a streak of fifteen wins in a row. Although the famed Irishman had the upper hand in the fight, Diaz got the better of him in the second round and after a choke, he was able to turn the fight to his side.
However, after the failed rematch with McGregor, he violated a USADA anti-doping rule. He did light up a joint at the post-fight press conference, but he didn’t get a bigger punishment. Still, we haven’t seen him wrestle in two years.
His last loss was last June after a close fight against current Welterweight champion Leon Edwards. He recently shocked the world by finishing world P4P number one Kamaru Usman.
In two weeks at UFC 279, Diaz faces perhaps the toughest test of his career to date. In the last fight of his contract and possibly his entire career, he will face the predatory Khamzat Chimaeu, who has blown into the UFC like a hurricane.
The wrestler has once again caused a stir, this time during an anti-doping test
The well-known Stockton, California brawler, however, caused a stir again before the tournament. Of course, the legendary veteran has to undergo the traditional anti-doping check in connection with his fight.
But he did it in his own way. He greeted the USADA worker with a joint in his hand and even offered him to do his job too. “This guy won’t leave my house because I didn’t give him enough urine,” an obviously laughing Diaz said.
“I pissed as much as I could, how many litres do I have to give,” he asked. “F**k the USADA,” he said of the inspection, adding that he liked the worker in the video. You can watch the video of the incident at the link below.
Marijuana is currently allowed by the anti-doping agency, however, this has not always been the case. For example, Nate’s older brother Nick, who received a fight ban from USADA, has paid the price for smoking cannabis.
