Scotland vs. Czech Republic: preview and betting tips
The opening match of Jaroslav Šilhavy’s selection at the European Championship will be extremely important. If the Czech Republic wants to think about advancing from the group, it should be able to handle Monday’s match.
The opening match of Jaroslav Šilhavy’s selection at the European Championship will be extremely important. If the Czech Republic wants to think about advancing from the group, it should be able to handle Monday’s match.
Scotland have been unbeaten in their last five international matches. Coach Steve Clarke’s side beat the Faroe Islands and Luxembourg and drew against Austria, Israel and the Netherlands.
Scotland’s squad includes several players who are regulars in the Premier League. Andrew Robertson, Kieran Tierney, John McGinn and Scott McTominay are worth mentioning. Billy Gilmour, a recent Champions League winner, is also in the squad.
The Czech Republic have not been so successful in their last five games. The only wins came against Estonia and Albania, and coach Šilhavy’s team won a surprising draw against Belgium. However, the national team lost the matches against Wales and Italy without scoring a goal.
The mainstay of the team should be Tomas Soucek, who had a great season at West Ham United. However, we will also rely on Vladimir Coufal, Patrik Schick or Alex Kral.
What to bet on? Although Scotland won both of their Nations League games against each other, and will be able to take advantage of their home environment, Monday’s game doesn’t have a paper favourite. Anything can happen.
I expect an even match in which neither side will want to make a mistake. So I recommend a bet on the result of the first half or the whole match to be a draw.
