In addition to Saturday’s qualifying, the third and final practice session was also on the agenda today. We even saw two crashes. So how did the third practice go?
Practice three didn’t go well at all for Haas driver Mick Schumacher. He failed to control his car and crashed in Casino Square. It was also his second accident during race practice.
Nicholas Latifi in the Williams car also crashed, ending up in the wall at the exit of the pools. However, it’s not so devastating for this Canadian, as the son of a famous legend will not start qualifying because of this accident.
His mechanics have to fit a new gearbox to the Haas monopost and the car’s chassis is almost totally damaged.
With qualifying looming, it was also noticeable that the drivers were running at a sharper pace. The proof is that several drivers touched the kerbs with their left wheels before the Nouvelle chicane.
The last practice session was dominated by Max Verstappen in his Red Bull ahead of both Ferrari drivers. It is the Italian team that is really doing well in Monaco so far. The Mercedes drivers, on the other hand, are still not happy with their machines. Valtteri Bottas came fourth, Lewis Hamilton even seventh.
Saturday’s qualifying for Sunday’s Grand Prix starts at 15:00 and is sure to be very close!
