Will Mick Schumacher get a seat in Formula 1? At the moment it seems very unlikely, but the young German driver understandably believes in a brighter future. Thanks to his hard work, he is said to be ready to return to the race car.

Schumacher came to Formula 1 in 2021 when Haas chose him. The young German driver spent two seasons with the American stable. But in neither of them did he shine enough to continue with the team.

But Mick not only lost his racing seat at Haas, he was also terminated by the Ferrari academy.

For the 2023 season, however, he has lost the most important thing – a place to race for one of the teams in the current grid.

However, breaking free from the clutches of Haas and the Ferrari academy gave the son of a legend a chance to move to a completely different environment and start afresh. A few months ago, he was given a high-five by Mercedes, where he is currently a reserve driver.

And it has to be said, Schumacher is not only doing a very good job on the simulator at Mercedes. His services have recently been praised by the likes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, and the German stable has made considerable progress in the development of the current car thanks to him.

However, the 24-year-old former Haas driver is understandably still hoping to return to one of the teams. As soon as possible, of course, preferably for next season.

“I’m always ready. Believe me, I’m working hard to hopefully get back in the car soon. I hope it will happen soon. Next year at the latest. I’m sure something will happen in the near future,” Schumacher told German TV RTL.

The hard work he has put in is certainly undeniable, but the more serious question is whether there will even be a position in Formula 1 for the young driver to take up next year.

This year Schumacher has only sat in an F1 car once, and that was when he was testing a Mercedes car in Spain. He drove 140 laps at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit before returning to the simulator and hard practice.
