Patrik Schick has been playing in great form and speculation has started about his transfer to an even bigger club. The Czech striker himself, however, refuses for now. At Leverkusen, he is one of the world’s leading strikers. The German legend even claims to be one of the top three strikers of today.
Along with Cristiano Ronaldo, he was the top scorer at the European Championships in the summer, and now occupies second place in the Bundesliga scorers’ table, where he is tied with Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland.
Patrik Schick is playing in the form of his life and has been giving excellent performances for Leverkusen. He has even been linked with big clubs like PSG, Manchester City and Barcelona. But he is not joking himself, he is happy in Germany.
Why wouldn’t he be? Bayer’s management values and praises him, as evidenced by the German football legend’s recent words. Rudi Völler, Leverkusen’s sporting director and 1990 world champion, believes Schick is one of the three best strikers in the game today.
“Is Schick next to Lewandowski and Haaland at world class level? Just look at the statistics in the Bundesliga. Moreover, he scored the same number of goals as Ronaldo at the Euros, so he was already at that level, he just got better in the current season with us,” Völler commented to the Bundesliga server.
Now Leverkusen’s sporting director used to be a striker as well, so he can appreciate Schick’s skills. Of the aforementioned trio, he is said to have the best dribbling and ball coverage, and Völler also likes the pace at which the Czech international plays. According to him, he is a complete striker.
Schick has already broken several club and Czech records this season. His numbers could be very high at the end of this season.
Völler then believes that the Bundesliga should be proud to be home to the three best strikers in the world. “There are no strikers of this calibre in England, Spain or Italy, they are all here in Germany,” the former outstanding striker concluded his comments.
