Sancho to Saudi Arabia? He’s not playing for Manchester United, an official offer is on the table
From the first few weeks of the new season, it’s clear that Jadon Sancho is not Erik ten Hag’s number one choice, and so far he’s only ever come off the bench for a few minutes. A Saudi Arabian club is trying to take advantage of this, and would like to lure him to the Saudi Pro League.
When Sancho transferred from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United for €85 million in the summer of 2021, everyone expected him to be one of the main movers of the team. Only, so far, it’s safe to say that he’s burning like Memphis Depay.
So far, the English winger has played 82 games in the Red Devils jersey, during which he scored 12 goals and added 6 assists. This is really not enough for such a big reinforcement, moreover, the performances on the field are not better at all.
After the arrival of Antony and also the constantly improving Alejandro Garnacha, it is very difficult for Sancho to get on the field. This is also being noticed in Saudi Arabia, as journalist Rudy Galetti reported on his Twitter account that a Saudi Arabian outfit is very interested in the 23-year-old winger, who has reportedly sent an official bid to Old Trafford.
For Manchester United, it’s safe to say that his departure shouldn’t pose any major problem. If Ten Hag has enough players somewhere, it’s on the wings.
Moreover, one can count on the Saudis to offer a really interesting amount for Sancho, which the club could invest in another big reinforcement in the winter, which would bring much more benefit to the club.
In the end, however, it will definitely depend on the player himself whether he prefers a lucrative offer or wants to stay in Europe.
The fact remains, however, that coach Gareth Southgate did not invite him to the national team meeting at the expense of others, which is certainly logical given that he is not playing.
The question is whether it would help that he will be playing regularly in the Saudi Pro League. How the national coaches will react to the new situation remains to be seen in the coming months.
