Salzburg vs. Wolfsburg: preview and betting tips
Salzburg host Wolfsburg in the third round of the Champions League group stage. Who would have expected before the draw that the Austrian champions would be top of the table after two games. The German side will not have an easy time of it.

Salzburg has become one of the best European clubs in recent years, not counting the top 5 leagues. It is doing well this year too, leading the group with four points, two points ahead of Sevilla and Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg can’t be satisfied yet. He expected more than two points after two rounds from a group that was easy on paper. However, they lost the win against Sevilla with an 87th minute goal and played thirty minutes shorthanded against Lille.
Karim Adeyemi is the home side’s scoring mainstay, the skilful striker has already scored eleven goals and assisted two. Eighteen-year-old Slovenian talent Benjamin Sesko has been instrumental in Salzburg’s eleven goals (8+3).
Wout Weghorst is worth mentioning in the Wolves’ squad. Although he’s not firing like last year so far, four goals and one assist is not a bad sign. Twenty-three-year-old versatile Ridle Baku has put himself on the scoring sheet three times so far.
Salzburg rely on a solid defence, getting just three goals in their last six games.
The same cannot be said for the Wolves, who have scored at least two goals in three of their last six games.
Given the good form of Weghorst during the national break, I think Wolfsburg will take at least a point from Austria.
