Juventus travel to Salernitana in the fifteenth round of Serie A. The newcomer to the Premier League is the last one, but they will want to prove themselves against Juventus. What to expect from Tuesday’s game?
Salernitana drew in the last league round, yet they remain last in the Serie A table. They are three points behind seventeenth-placed Spezia, so a win would mean peace of mind at least for a while.
Even Juventus cannot be satisfied with the way the season is going. The fans, used to winning the championship on a regular basis, are finding it hard to bear the current seventh place and seven points behind fourth-placed Atalanta.
Salernitana’s top scorer is Federico Bonazzoli, with three league and two cup goals so far. Senegalese central midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly has two goals.
Federico Chiesa is Juventus’ mainstay, but the skilful Italian has been involved in just six goals (3+3) since the start of the season. Paulo Dybala can’t complain though, scoring six times and assisting five.
Salernitana have struggled especially in attack, scoring just one goal in the last four rounds.
Even the Old Lady doesn’t score as many goals as in the era of Cristiano Ronaldo or Gonzalo Higuain, in the last four games they have only equalled the net three times.
Considering the miserable form of Salernitana and the experience of the away players, I think Juventus will win and score at least two goals.
