Salah’s departure is almost certain! Fabrizio Romano unveils Liverpool’s plans, including West Ham and Bayern wingers

In the summer, Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ittihad bid for Mohamed Salah, offering Liverpool a whopping £200m. The English club thankfully declined, but given the age of the Egyptian winger, it is expected that the Reds will not refuse next year if there is still interest in him.

Will there still be interest in Mohamed Salah next summer? If his health continues to serve him, it can almost be counted on. The thirty-one-year-old Egyptian is beloved in the eastern world and especially in his homeland. So it’s a great marketing ploy for the Saudi Pro League, which will drag the Premier League a good portion of the watching public who will switch along with their favourite.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will be looking for his eventual replacement, which will be no easy task at all. Salah has already scored 190 goals in 312 games in a Reds jersey and added 83 assists to that. He is proving his quality this season as well, having already scored 4 goals in 7 games and added 4 assists.

Jarrod Bowen

Bowen is, for now, one could say, on the sidelines as he has slowly become a key figure for the Hammers since arriving at West Ham in January 2020 when Hull City cashed in €21 million.

He has already played 138 games in the Premier League, scoring 31 goals and adding 28 assists. However, he has been doing great this season, with 4 goals and an assist in 6 games.

The numbers are not miraculous, but we have to take into account the fact that West Ham is not an attacking team, quite the opposite! Playing under David Moyes is not at all easy for attacking players when a compact defensive line is an absolute advantage. That leaves little time for any initiative of their own.

Bowen is also a very valid player for the team in that he is a very variable player who has no problem starting in multiple positions. Most often he plays on the right wing, but in about 30-40% Moyes used him elsewhere in midfield or attack.

If Jurgen Klopp’s game suits him, he could finally really shine. According to Fabrizio Romano, he is one of the main players the Reds are scouting.

Leroy Sané

Sané has already spent practically 4 years in the Premier League when he donned the jersey of Manchester City, for whom he scored 39 goals and assisted 46 more in 135 games. He now has similar numbers at Bayern Munich, for whom he has played 8 games this season and scored 5 goals.

Sané is already a typical winger who benefits from his speed. If Klopp wants a player similar in type to Salah, then the German winger is a great choice.

SPORTbible has come out with the information that Liverpool were interested in Sané earlier this summer, but no more concrete information has been forthcoming. Compared to Bowen, he would surely be more expensive and at the same time the Reds would face more complicated negotiations.

But of course, there will be a number of other players in play. Many wingers will surely make their qualities known during the season, so maybe we will see a completely surprising name we haven’t even heard of yet.
