Salah on negotiations with Liverpool: Money is not everything, the fans know what I want. I’ll leave if the club wants me to
Mohamed Salah is still one of the best players on the planet this season, and he’s proved it in almost every game for Liverpool. However, there is increasing speculation about his possible departure. His contract expires in the summer of 2023 and there has been no extension yet. The Egyptian himself has now commented on the situation.

Liverpool are still fighting for the title this season, they have managed to close the gap on Manchester City and the Premier League is set for a dramatic battle in the last rounds.
All thanks to the performance of Liverpool’s Egyptian star. Mohamed Salah has scored 22 goals and added 12 assists in the league alone, enough for 30 games. It’s no wonder he is once again being talked about in connection with winning the Ballon d’Or.
But what does his future hold? He’s only under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023 and there’s no way he’s going to extend it. There has often been talk of big financial demands from Salah, but he claimed in a recent interview that he is definitely not just after money.
“Liverpool means a lot to me, I’ve had a lot of incredible moments here, I enjoy football here more than anywhere else, I’ve given everything to the club. It’s like a big family. The new contract is not just about money. Thefans know what I want,” Salah told FourFourTwo.
The Egyptian star will celebrate his 30th birthday in June, and Salah has stated several times since then that he would like to stay at Anfield. He is therefore not counting on a summer departure. “I think I will spend next season here. But if someone wants me to leave, that’s different,” he joked about his future.
And that he would play next season without a new contract? He’s not worried about that. He’s not letting it affect him in any way. He also dreams of becoming the best goal scorer in the club’s history.
Salah now has 155 goals in a Reds jersey, but he is still almost 200 goals short of the legendary record. Ian Rush managed to score 346 goals for Liverpool. Salah is currently the ninth top scorer in the club’s history.
