Although Mohamed Salah extended his contract with Liverpool at the start of this season, he may not stay at Anfield Road beyond the end of the season. According to Fichajes, he is considering leaving and PSG are thought to be the most serious suitor.
The Egyptian winger has been pulling for Liverpool again this season, but the charges of German coach Jürgen Klopp are not doing at all as expected and will have big problems to qualify for next year’s millionaire Champions League. That, of course, doesn’t sit well with Salah and the other stars.
The former Chelsea or AS Roma player is considering a possible change of venue, after all he has already won what he could in England. In the past, Real Madrid were very keen on Salah, but the agile striker has always resisted offers. Now, he may hear the lure of another foreign giant, which is French side Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Fichajes, PSG are the clear favourites to compete for Salah’s services, so the Egyptian could head for Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar this summer.
However, it is likely that if Salah heads to Paris, one of the aforementioned trident will leave the club so as not to create too much pressure in the attack.
Salah has scored 22 goals in 39 competitive games for Liverpool this season and is traditionally the Reds’ top scorer. Meanwhile, the Anfield Road side are sixth in the league table and the fans are very unhappy with the performances of their darlings.
Of course, Salah is not satisfied either and this may force him to leave. In fact, there is open talk that the team will be very busy in the summer and a number of players who seem to lack motivation will leave.
The Egyptian whizz-kid has been playing for Liverpool since the 2017/2018 season when he arrived from AS Roma. In his very first season in a red jersey, he managed to score 44 goals across all competitions and became the legend he is to this day.
His departure would be very hard for Reds supporters to bear, although they could probably understand it at the moment given the situation at Liverpool.
