Salah cries for revenge after reaching the Champions League final. But can Real Madrid beat a rampant Manchester City?
Mohamed Salah played a big part in Liverpool’s victory against Villarreal, who put in a truly breathtaking performance in this year’s Champions League and deserve huge credit. However, the Reds are through to the final and will now await their opponents. However, the Egyptian winger is clear about his dream opponent!

Even though Villarreal managed to get into a two-goal lead quite quickly, the strong and experienced team of coach Jürgen Klopp managed to react to the unfavourable developments in the second half and decided their progress to the final with three accurate goals.
“It’s great to be in the final for the third time in five seasons. But we have a very important game this weekend. But tomorrow is a new day,” Salah rejoiced after the match in an interview with BT Sport.
Liverpool became the first team in the Champions League to win all 6 away games. In the group stage, they recorded a 100% success rate from 6 matches. In the play-offs, they then failed to celebrate victory only twice (home loss to Inter 0:1 and draw with Benfica 3:3).
Now Liverpool will wait for Wednesday’s match between Real Madrid and Manchester City, which so far speaks in favour of the English side, who managed to win a beautiful 4: 3 match at the Etihad Stadium.
Who would Salah like to see in the final? “I want to play with Madrid. Manchester City is a really tough opponent, we’ve played them a few times this season, but if you ask me, I’d personally prefer to play Madrid because we lost to them in the final in 2018.”
Liverpool have already managed to win one trophy this season, beating Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup final. If they can manage a few more games, they could even see themselves dominating all 4 possible trophies – the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Champions League.
“We’re very close to all that, so why not? We played incredible games in the Champions League group. At that moment I was thinking to myself, we’re going to win the Champions League this year,” Salah beamed with confidence after the win.
What can I say, Liverpool will face Tottenham and Aston Villa in the next few days. Then, on May 14, they will face Chelsea again in the final, this time in the FA Cup. After that, Klopp’s charges will face Southampton and finish the league season against Wolves.
The Reds’ final Champions League match will be the final match of the season on the 28th at the Stade de France
