Salah converted a penalty in an unprecedented fashion! For the first time in England, he didn’t even hit the post. See how he disappointed Liverpool fans
Liverpool and the crisis? It was almost starting to look like he was on his way out. But then came the game at Bournemouth on Saturday and it was like the same old Liverpool from the recent phase of the season. Mohamed Salah also gave away a penalty.
Liverpool and the crisis? It was almost starting to look like he was on his way out. But then came the game at Bournemouth on Saturday and it was like the same old Liverpool from the recent phase of the season. Mohamed Salah also gave away a penalty.
Liverpool’s last two games? Two wins, a fantastic 9: 0 scoreline, and with it a great euphoria that the crisis is averted. Moreover, in one of the two aforementioned games, the Reds destroyed Manchester United, who are on the rise, 7: 0.
But on Saturday afternoon, Jürgen Klopp’s charges were at Bournemouth, who are one of the worst teams in the English league at home, but Liverpool clearly saw it differently.
Back in August, at the start of the season, Liverpool had run Bournemouth over on their own turf 9:0, only to fall now. This was despite being slightly better and more active in the match.
Already in the 28th minute Bournemouth went into the lead 1: 0, which they kept until the end of the match. Philip Billing scored his fifth goal of this Premier League season.
However, it cannot be said at all that Liverpool had no chance to win. They did create opportunities, even kicking a penalty. But even that was useless.
And that penalty kick was taken in the 69th minute by sharpshooter Mohamed Salah. But not only did he miss the penalty. He didn’t even hit the post, the first time that has happened in his Premier League career.
Salah thus remains on 11 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League.
