Sabonis had his 15th triple-double of the season, but it wasn’t enough to stop Cleveland
In the Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Sacramento Kings (136:110), Domantas Sabonis had another great performance for the visiting team. He scored only 12 points, but once again he dominated under the basket with 19 rebounds and 15 accurate passes to his teammates.
This season, he recorded his 15th such feat, breaking the double-digit mark in three pointers. This equals this season’s leader in this “discipline” Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets. And he also broke his season high. He’s only done it 14 times in one season so far. Sabonis also clearly dominates the league with 644 rebounds this season.
It is the 47th time in his career that he has reached that mark and he is already sixth among active players. But otherwise, he didn’t have much to be happy about. Cleveland dominated on the floor. They led from the start of the game and continued to increase their lead throughout the game.
The Cavaliers just proved that there is no better team in recent weeks. They recorded their 32nd win of the season, but most importantly, they have lost only once in the last 15 games. The Cavaliers have traditionally been led by their top scorer Donovan Mitchell, who fell just one point short of the 30-point mark in the game.
It was a very offensive game in Atlanta
The Atlanta Hawks vs Los Angeles Clippers (144:149) game was very eye-catching for the home fans as it showed a proper offensive whirlwind. However, the joy of the home fans was spoiled by the defeat.
The first quarter was dominated by the visitors, the second by the home team and the score was tied at halftime. Trae Young shone again for Atlanta, scoring 25 points. And as is his habit, he had more than 10 assists in the game.
For the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard was on a shooting spree, scoring 36 points. He was complemented by the ever-improving James Harden, who even hit the triple-double mark with 30 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds.
After a very even third quarter, which the Clippers won by a point, they helped themselves in the last part of the game with a very high three-point shooting percentage, which exceeded 30 percent for the whole game. The Clippers took home their 34th overall win of the season from Atlanta.
