Roque doesn’t play at all, Xavi doesn’t speak to him, says Brazilian’s agent
Vitor Roque transferred from Brazilian Club Athletico Paranaense to Barcelona in the winter. The amount was around 40 million euros and the fans were blown away by the transfer. However, a few months have passed and the Brazilian youngster hasn’t played a single minute in the last 5 games, which is not to the liking of the player or his agent.
Roque is being compared to Endrick
Of course, the Brazilian teenager gets the biggest comparison with another Brazilian talent, Endrick. Barcelona’s Tigrinho, as the player is nicknamed, is 19 years old, while the striker, who will head to Real Madrid, is only 17. Still, the comparison is inevitable, made all the more so by the fact that one plays for Barcelona and the other will transfer to Real Madrid.
Endrick has currently played 43 games in the Brazilian Serie A, scoring 14 goals and adding 1 assist. Roque has played 54 games in his native country with 17 goals scored and 4 assists. Let’s not forget that Roque is a winger and Endrick a top striker.
An important factor by which we can compare both players is the market value at 17 years old. Vitor Roque was worth up to €17 million at that age. Endrick, who is still 17, is worth €55 million. Tygrinho is currently at €40 million, a lower value than Endrick at 17.
The agent doesn’t like Xavi’s treatment
Roque flew into Barcelona like big water, in the 4th game he managed to score against Osasuna. In the next game against Alaves he scored a goal, but subsequently saw a red card.
The sending off was controversial and was washed over and over again by the media. From that moment on, Tyhrinho only played 183 minutes and was on the bench 8 times.
“It makes no sense to sign a Brazilian, put him in games from day one and then all of a sudden not again. He scored 2 goals and then? Then he disappeared. Xavi doesn’t even talk to the kid,” began the player’s agent Andre Cury. He follows up on the fact that the Brazilian has remained among the unused substitutes 5 times in a row.
“It would be good if he played some full games. Xavi has to show confidence. Vitor wants to show his qualities, look at Vinicius, it took him 2 and a half years to show his skills. Vitor has to play,” Cury continued.
“Will he go on loan in the summer? No, it’s dangerous for a young player, only a permanent transfer. Thebest option would be to stay in Barcelona, but if he doesn’t play we will have to look for another club,” Cury concluded the whole speech. If Barcelona don’t want to lose the young player, he should at least get some minutes in the remaining games.
