Ronaldo’s plan to become the top goalscorer in football history is taking shape. He has already scored 17 goals in 16 games, more than the entire Manchester United

When things couldn’t get any better at the highest level, Cristiano Ronaldo was happy to go to Saudi Arabia, starting a new era for the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese striker himself is set to make a significant improvement in the rankings of the best strikers of all time.
In 6 consecutive league games, Ronaldo has always managed to score at least once and added assists. A lower level suits the Portuguese striker as he is quite possibly fulfilling his dream of being the top scorer in history.
According to IFFHS statistics, he already is, having scored 855 goals in total, which puts him at the top of the list ahead of second-placed Lionel Messi with 819 goals.
But then there are the RSSSF stats, according to which he’s up to 4th place, with the trio of legendary strikers Erwin Helmchen 987+ goals, Josef Bican 950+ goals and Ronnie Rooke 931+ goals ahead of him.
Meanwhile, in the 2021/22 season he was still quite hot at Manchester United, scoring 24 goals in 39 games. But then his stats plummeted as he scored only 3 goals in 16 games and his goalscoring streak started again in Saudi Arabia when he scored 14 goals in 16 league games in the second half of the season.
Ronaldo also holds the position of top scorer in the Champions League, where he scored 140 goals. Here, however, he could add a few more goals as the Saudis seek to give teams from the Saudi Pro League a run in the millionaire competition.
However, he will have some really big competition in this regard in Erling Haaland, who is already on 35 goals. While Ronaldo has scored 0.77 goals every game, the Norwegian hitman is on 1.13.
Overall, the Norwegian striker has already scored over 200 goals, yet he is only 23 years old. So he’s well on his way to surpassing Ronaldo.
