Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted an offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr after ending up at Manchester United, where he is expected to play for the next two years.
The experienced Portuguese has not yet played a match at his new club, but now he will play a friendly match for a team made up of the best players from the Saudi clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal.
The opponent will be one of the best teams in the world, Paris Saint-Germain. Lionel Messi is expected to play in his jersey, so this may well be the last time these footballers will play against each other.
What is more, Ronaldo will even be the captain of his team, which will try to keep up with the Parisians at least partially.
A video released by Turki al-Sheikh, an advisor to the Saudi royal court, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of Spanish club Almeria, shows the moment Ronaldo receives the captain’s armband.
The expected duel with Lionel Messi will take place on Thursday in Riyadh. The match kicks off at 18:00 our time, so a high viewership is expected.
