Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is still in the stars. Although Juventus assured everyone that the Portuguese would stay at the club, everything now suggests the complete opposite. According to Sky Sports Italia, the Italian outfit has an interesting plan.
The last of the top five European competitions started at the weekend. Juventus faced Udinese in Serie A, but without Cristiano Ronaldo in the starting lineup. The Portuguese started as a substitute, but eventually hit the match and didn’t leave a stellar impression.
By all accounts, one of the best footballers in history should have asked to be left out of the starting lineup himself. The reason for this is said to be his pursuit of a transfer and waiting for an offer.
There is a lot of talk about the interest of PSG, which is to prepare for the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. But Juventus have a very different idea of Ronaldo’s possible departure.
On the one hand, Pavel Nedved and coach Massimiliano Allegri want to keep the Portuguese gem in the team, but on the other hand, they are aware that it may not be possible. According to Sky Sports Italia, they have prepared a backup plan.
In it, however, PSG plays no role. If Ronaldo is to leave, then to England, specifically to Manchester City. Pep Guardiola organizes a pure goalscorer in his team, failed to get Harry Kane and the Portuguese would fit the requirements perfectly.
Juventus are then probing around Gabriel Jesus, who they would love to bring in. In the long term, he is seen as a great replacement for Ronaldo. A deal that would see these players swapped would be to the benefit of both parties.
However, much has been made of Ronaldo’s ability to adapt to the style of play that Guardiola’s charges practice. Furthermore, it would be a spicy transfer as the Portuguese has a strong relationship with Manchester United due to his history.
For now, this is unsubstantiated speculation.
